As principal of Gortaleam NS I am delighted to welcome you all to our wonderful school.

Gortaleam NS is a vibrant school located in a picturesque area five kilometres outside Dunmore . We are a small, 2 classroom school where our students have the added benefit of mixed grade classes throughout their time here.

The multi-class setting enables children to develop skills in independent and small-group learning. We believe that our students benefit best from a broad balanced educational experience within a caring environment. This promotes positive attitudes towards learning enabling each of our pupils to recognize their talents and achieve their full potential. We aim to use child centered learning approaches such as project work and strong community interaction in our teaching and learning.
